Submission of Manuscripts
Three (3) hard copies of manuscript (one original and two copies) can be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief, Ilmi Journal of Education. Alternatively, an electronic form may be submitted through e-mail attachment to the Editor-in-Chief at: fcekatsinailmijournal@gmail.com. Each manuscript must not be more than fifteen (15) double space typed pages; extra pages may attract additional charge. Further contact can be made by phone on 08030955718 / 07030059370 (on working days and hours only). Submission of a manuscript to the Journal implies that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Preparation of Manuscripts 
Manuscripts should be typed in double spaced form on one side of A4 sized paper with sufficient margins. All pages should be numbered consecutively, and be arranged in the following order: Title of Article and Names(s) of author(s); Full Addresses of Author(s) (including e-mail and phone number of corresponding author); Abstract and 4-6 Keywords; Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion and Conclusion ; Acknowledgements and References. Short reports should not exceed 5 double space typed pages.

  • TITLE: The title should unambiguously reflect the contents of the paper. The first page should contain the title of the manuscript (in uppercase).
  • NAME and ADDRESS of AUTHOR: Avoid the use of titles for author. The surname of the author followed by initials and his/her address should follow the title of the paper. Where there are more than one author, the corresponding author should be indicated by an asterisk (*), and his/her E-mail address and phone number provided.
  • ABSTRACT: The abstract, usually not exceeding 200 words, should indicate the scope and significance of the paper, the principal methodology, key findings, and conclusion (Abstract should be written under these subtitles: no reference citations).
  • Keywords: About 4-6 keywords in alphabetical order should be provided (Authors are advised not to repeat words already on the title of the paper but instead state words linked to the work that occur more often than normal in the body of the work).
  • INTRODUCTION: The introduction should be concise providing the background on the subject matter with current literature citations, and should state precisely the aim of the study being reported.
  • MATERIALS AND METHODS:New methods should be described in sufficient detail. Where the methods are already well known, details should be referred to the literature cited.
  • RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The Results may be put together with or separated from the Discussion. Only data essential for understanding the discussion and main conclusions emerging from the study should be included. The data should be statistically analysed, and the level of significance given.
  • CONCLUSION(S): This should stem directly from the data presented and consistent with the introduction in fulfilling any promise made therein to the reader.
  • ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: This should be brief and only for special assistance received including sources of financial support.
  • REFERENCES: References to literature cited should be indicated in the text by numbers, consecutive arranged beginning from 1, placed in square brackets (e.g. [1], [2, 3, 4]. [5-10]) and should be listed in their order of appearance on the reference list. Citations on the reference list should be listed as follows:
    Journals: PETER, A.S. & GARBA, S. (2007). Mapping, monitoring and surveillance of neglected tropical diseases. Journal of Tropical Parasitology, 23(4): 10-14.
    Books: GALADIMA, J.M. (1999). Tropical Parasitology. Ahmadu Bello University Press, Zaria, Nigeria, 178 pp. Chapters in Books: ADAMS, S. (2002). Worm burden of pre-school children in Zaria. In: A.A. Banki, (Ed). Common Diseases of Children in Nigeria, Universal Press, Abuja, Nigeria, pp. 23-37.
  • Tables, Graphs and Plates: Any of these should be on separate sheets of paper and must be prepared in such a way as to permit photo reproduction. Table caption should be placed at the top of the Table while the captions of Figures (Graphs) and Plates (photos) should be placed at the bottom of each. All captions should be editable. Cross lines should be avoided in Tables. Prints must be on glossy paper and must show good contrast. Colour photographs may attract extra charges to the page charges. Tables and Figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals (e.g. Table 4, Fig. 6) while Plates should be numbered in Roman numerals (e.g. Plate IV). Figures should not duplicate results already presented in Tables.
  • Abbreviations and Symbols: Standard abbreviations and symbols should be used in the text. Unusual abbreviations, trade names and semi-ambiguous terms should be defined at first point of use.
  • SI Units: The Journal requires the use of SI units for all numerical data.
  • Proofs: Author’s proof must be returned through registered mail or e-mail within two weeks of receipt. The permission of the Editor-in-Chief must be sought before new materials are inserted. Any drastic change will attract additional charges.
